• Development of tools and methods to improve water quality control and hydraulic flow conditions in pressurized pipelines, including the development of water quality monitoring techniques.

  • Development of methods to optimize network operation, with particular focus on analyzing failures in water supply and sewage networks, and on interactions between damaged network pipes and surrounding soil.

  • Assessment of moisture in porous media such as soil, ground, and construction materials using invasive and non-invasive reflectometry techniques under laboratory and field conditions with real-time measurements.

  • Numerical modeling using 2D and 3D finite element methods of unsaturated and saturated water flow and contaminant transport in porous media.

  • Analysis, classification, and evaluation of soil, ground, gas mixtures, sediments, water, and wastewater parameters using electronic sensing technologies such as electronic noses and electronic eyes.
